HOW DO I START MY DETOX?

February 1st, 2010

It’s the start of a new year and many people choose to turn over a fresh leaf by starting a detox diet, but it can be confusing as to how you can actually get the ball rolling and put your plan into action.

Firstly you must address your current lifestyle – this includes a whole range of things such as how much exercise you do, how much alcohol you drink, what sort of diet you have, what sort of food you eat and other such things.

Once you have the answers to these lifestyle questions you can look at where you need to change, as a basic guide you should do the following –

• Cut out the alcohol – this is a sure fire way to cleanse your body as well as lose weight, many people don’t realise how much alcohol they actually drink during the course of a week, a glass of wine with tea every night easily mounts up.
• Join the gym – by joining a gym you can increase the amount of exercise you do – you don’t have to go every day, why not try 3 days of the week, start off gently with just half an hour and build it up as your progress.
• Eat healthy – change your diet to cut out greasy and fatty foods, still allow yourself a treat but by cutting out heavy meals you will feel better as well as lose weight. Eating little and often is the best way to eat.

February 1st, 2010

With so many companies as well as heath professionals constantly telling us that we should be taking vitamins, it can be confusing as to why when supposedly our food contains everything we need.

The first thing is that it is true that our food contains vitamins that help to keep us healthy, however, not everyone eats the right sorts of food, or enough food to allow our bodies to have enough of each individual vitamin. Your body requires all sorts of vitamins, they keep your teeth strong, give you energy, clot your blood and in general keep you strong and fit.

Not many people actually manage to fit in their f a day of fruit and veg – if this is the case with you then you should take vitamins so that your body has all the nutrients that it needs. By supplementing your diet with vitamins you will ensure that you keep strong and are less prone to illness. Vitamins are vitally important for those people that have low immune systems and a large amount of people tend to take extra vitamins in winter in order to combat the cold weather and prevent them from getting colds.

There are many types of vitamins, but if you are not sure which are best for you ask any chemist or simply take a multi vitamin – which contains everything that your body could possibly need.
